Cape Point Nature Reserve
Departing from your lodge, we take you on a scenic drive via the quaint coastal villages of Noordhoek, Kommetjie and Scarborough to The Cape Point Nature Reserve, situated at the Peninsula’s very end. Take a short hike or optional funicular to the first ever lighthouse constructed at the point. Then it’s off to The Cape Of Good Hope, originally named The Cape Of Storms due to many a ship meeting its doom in the rough waters of this rugged coastline. Here, one can stand on the South-Western most point of the African continent.
Boulders Beach Penguin Colony
From Cape Point Nature Reserve, we stop in Simon’s Town to see the Boulder’s Beach Jackass Penguin colony, unique to Southern Africa and aptly named due to the donkey-like sounds they make.
Simon’s Town Museum
At Simon’s Town Museum, journey into the past, for a deeper insight into the area’s history and discover the many courageous individuals and events that influenced the Cape.
Kalk Bay (lunch, local arts & trinkets)
Lunch in the harbour town of Kalk Bay, where one can enjoy fresh seafood caught that morning and an opportunity to visit countless weird and wonderful shops for local arts, trinkets, gifts, home-made produce and antiques.
Ending our day off after Kalk Bay, we journey into the sunset, over what is widely accepted as one of the most scenic routes in the world, Chapman’s Peak Drive and back to your lodge for the night. Time permitting we’ll stop for optional sundowners in Camp’s Bay, overlooking the glistening waters of the Atlantic Ocean.
