Collection from lodge
Departing from your lodge, either early morning or around midday, we head off to enter the Kruger National Park. Pick-up time will vary depending on whether you are on a morning or afternoon safari as well as gate opening and closing times over different seasons. Most lodges, we collect from are situated between 15 mins to just over an hour away from a gate into Kruger Park. So, once departed from the lodge, you can expect up to 1h 30min transit, before entering the reserve on safari.
1st Game Drive
If on an afternoon safari, your first game drive will start early afternoon upon entering the reserve. However, due to all mammals being relatively inactive through the hottest parts of the day, a morning safari comes highly recommended over an afternoon. This is to optimise your game viewing experience, in the cool hours of the early morning, the period of day when animals are at their most active, especially predators. This game drive is usually 2 to 3 hours long.
After your first game drive, we break at one of Kruger’s main camps for a toilet, coffee & breakfast/lunch break of 45 min usually, before heading off on another game drive adventure.
2nd Game Drive & Return to Lodge
After breakfast/lunch we head out on safari again, still in search of species we weren’t lucky enough to find already, finally exiting the reserve. This game drive usually lasts 1 to 2 hours, before returning to your lodge for the night or an alternative drop-off point, as arranged.
